So it’s that time again. {sigh} I’ve gotten used to the first day back crapiola. Mostly. It’s still stressful until I find someone I know, and then it’s easier to relax. I have some repeat profs, so that’s nice because I know what to expect from them already. This first week is usually all about getting back up to speed and sorting how everything will work, so it’s not busy-busy, but I still feel like I have to be “on” all the time. Always exhausting.
I am taking a lighter class load this time because I want to be able to tutor more. I’m all signed up and ready to rock with that. Mostly, I figure it’ll be great experience toward teaching, but I also really do like helping people with their writing. Essays and term papers and all that is very different from writing fiction, but I do like all forms of writing. Fiction is just so much more fun
Speaking of, if you haven’t been around the site for a while, you might not have seen that my little writing meter has gone up. I’m making progress! Every little bit helps. I’ve decided that should apply timewise as well, so whenever I have free moments, I’m going to open my story and do some writing. Doesn’t matter how much or how often. Don’t worry about whether it makes total sense. Maybe this is some Nanowrimo thinking? Whatever. I’m trying it. If I’m not tutoring, I’ll be writing somewhere.
Check in on Wednesday for a post from Alec. I’m looking forward to the discussion
